A further £11.3M of Decarbonisation Funds secured with Hounslow Council
“Asset+ have worked diligently with our Energy Team to ensure both applications where successful and are aligned to our Net Zero Carbon Goals. This £11.3m boost will enable the Council to make big savings in carbon and energy and along with the previous £7.7M award for our schools contributes significantly to the funding needed to end our contribution to global warming by 2030.”
Charles Pipe, Energy Manager – London Borough of Hounslow
The award builds upon the previous £7.7M award to Hounslow covering 33 schools which Asset+ are now on site delivering and shows real action behind the Councils recent declaration of a climate emergency which commits to making the Council carbon neutral by 2030. These two awards are a significant contribution to the Councils objectives of building a cleaner, greener Borough which reaps the economic rewards of a clean growth revolution, while eliminating health and social inequalities and the costs associated with them.
The scheme finances up to 100% of the cost of capital for energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation projects that meet the scheme criteria within public sector non-domestic buildings, including central government departments and arm’s length bodies in England only and delivers the following objectives:
- Deliver stimulus to the energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation sectors, supporting jobs.
- Deliver significant carbon savings within the public sector
